But What Now?

Twas the night before Christmas Eve and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a wireless mouse. The pager was hung by the chimney with care, with a blazing fire beneath to catch it on fire when it falls. Sorry, Santa.

Cut… away from fantasy. Actually that was my Blackberry hanging there. When it burns it will make a loud snap, crackle and pop and I will be dancing to the music of it all.

It is nearly Christmas. I am enjoying my time off.

Last night my friend who recently retired came to visit. Actually yesterday was his first full day of being retired. Congratulations, John! He has a different view of retirement than I do, but maybe I can influence his choices some.

When we retire, or when I retire at least, we will not sit around and watch tv. We’ll instead become 20 somethings again, or maybe even teens, but this time we’ll know better. At least that’s my other fantasy.

In other words, I’m really looking forward to volunteering, meeting people, taking classes and generally hanging out and having a good time. Here, here.
