Recently I have paid attention to a speech of HH the Dalai Lama. What he explained was absolutely great that I want to share some of the notes I made. I will try my best to write what he said, but there are some sections that I have to leave out as I could not make notes of all that he said.
We should have our body and mind clear, he said. What he meant is obvious, I imagine. We should eat natural food and not frequently have negative thoughts. We can and should physically and mentally cleanse ourselves with meditation.
We should not think thoughts that bring pain into our life, but think thoughts that have happiness and joy as a result.
We are all single persons amongst many. If you are entirely thinking of yourself and your targets, you will not come out of distress. You will benefit much more if you also have in mind other people. This is, because we are all one and if you only think of yourself, watching people who need help suffer, you too will suffer as we are all one on a number of levels.
We are all linked and are one first in our mind and second in this life and on this planet in what we se as our truth.
As we are all one in our mind, all people are near you as they form a part of you and if someone suffers, also you can become unhappy. If you strive only for your own pleasure, you will not attain it. In a superior sphere there is only NOW and you should think of the now, as you could also suffer from past as also from future sufferings.
Get rid of self-centeredness. You will greatly profit. If you exhibit sympathy for the struggling of others, it aids you to overcome your suffering. Reject selfishness! If you pray or meditate or just think, think of all others and not only of yourself and your own goals and ambition. As you carry happiness and joy to others, you will profit and bring more happiness and joy to yourself. If you only think of your own pleasure, you can’t reach it. You are not full, if you don’t let others benefit with you.
If anything is happening in one part of the world, the rest of the world is impacted by it. We have to think all as part of us. We have a lot more to think as WE, instead as me. When we get angry, it is the I, the ego that engages with an object. If you fully understand that objects have no reality, you will settle down and stop your anger.
When you develop attachment, look at all dimensions. Distorted thoughts, such as anger, hate, jealousy and greed, you have to avoid. Think that instead of hate, you might also feel compassion. Instead of anger you could feel pleasure. It is a decision. Your choice.
Develop a holistic view of things. See not only one facet of an object, but see it from varying points of view, from varying directions and dimensions.
For many people the visual appeal plays a large role. We seem to pinpoint on one aspect of the appearance level, but we should find out, what the real nature of things are. The accurate appearance of it. If we regularly do that, we will calm down and experience a deeper happiness and joy.
If it gives the impression to us that matters or others are not influenced by others, we are wrong. To understand what is reality, we need not to just look at the external appearance. Instead, we should realize the reality of things. It is an element of the all, as we all are part of the all.
The visual appeal is only perceived, but is something different. It just seems that things have their impartial reality. But this is an illusion. It only appears to us that things actually exist.
When we have negative feelings, we give criteria to what we feel negative about, which makes in fact no sense.
Nothing you perceive has an intrinsic reality. The belief that things have their unique nature is false. Conventional reality doesn’t exist. Things have no real nature.
You might now think that there is emptiness. There is no emptiness. What is the characteristics of emptiness? To say that matters have no authentic nature does not suggest that the existence of matter is negated; only the individual existence is negated. Things have no independent existence. Practically nothing exists impartial from the all there is.
Understanding this, we would have no worry, but live our life with more bliss. Stop to rely on the visual appeal of objects and think more of the interdependency of the all. And stop to hold on to things. They just don’t have any original worth or reality.
Read about the interaction of consciousness. and about the law ofmanifesting which is a result of our thinking and feeling.
